Bibles

It is very important that students bring their bibles to class each day for the following reasons: 1. We use the bible each day in our note taking and lessons. 2. As we examine worldviews, the writing of the bible will always address the underlying thoughts and beliefs behind each worldview. 3. Finally, it is my hope that our students will understand that the Bible is a living document that will always address the needs of our lives. Hebrews 4:12 says, “The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any double edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart.”

Students will be given a Bible at the beginning of the year. This version is HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible). I have chosen this version because it is written in easily understandable language for 9th grade students.
