Welcome to “Worldview”; Covenant Christian 9th Grade Bible. Students will explore each of the three major worldviews, what they believe about God, and how they relate to Christianity. These three views are Theism, Pantheism, and Atheism. A question that might come up is, “Why don’t you just study the bible? Should a bible class study beliefs that aren’t Christian?” We live in a world that is decidedly inconsistent in what it believes. Students will be exposed to multiple viewpoints and beliefs as they grow older. As we study other beliefs, we will compare them to the truth of Christianity and why God’s word reflects the reality of our world. It is my hope that at the end of the year, our students will know why they believe what they believe! I also understand that some of our students may not have made a decision to follow Christ with their lives; in this case, I pray that they end the year understanding what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Parents, please remember to read and sign the syllabus and return to school with your student. This signed syllabus is due on Monday, August 12th.
